In certain countries bank transfer is safer than PayPal -- PayPal will sometimes close your account (and take your money) if their algorithms think there is something dodgy about your transaction. Banks will generally not do that (at least, not without giving you a chance to explain).
Of course, Bitcoin is best of all.
