I would probably throw something together with an MAR-3 or an MAR-4. Depends on how much gain you need. And my Kay 475 adjustable attenuator keeps finding more and more uses. I have used it to align quite a few helical filters.

Yes, I would always put caps in line with the input and output.

The problem with the low impedance of the tinySA is that it might load down the IF transformer too much. Plus, it would be very helpful to be able to adjust the gain the amp starting at no signal in order to not overload the tinySA.?

Also, would you suggest putting a capacitor like a .01uf in series between the IF output and the input on the tinySA?
