You can set a level trigger and? on triggering save to the SD card using auto naming which uses the time/date as filename. Assuming this triggering will happen less frequent this may be a good option.

FWIW, You can buy special high endurance SD cards that are designed for continuous rewriting and seem to last a very long time. They are intended for applications such as car dash cams, security cams etc. They do cost more but appear to last very well. I’ve been using one in my car dash cam for over 3y Peter.
