But also bear in mind that it’s the aggregate power of all the signals “in the air” within the whole range that the analyser can see, not just the range you are looking at. So every 4W or 5W walkie-talkie, every cellphone, etc., all added together with the wireless mics, timecode TXs, etc., in total. So yeah, try to keep an external pad on there. Even if an individual signal is only approaching 0dB by the time you add on the total power of all the others - whether you are looking at them or not - you could easily exceed 0dB total at the input.?
