You have to be very careful when using notch filters. Try to ensure that even with the notch not placed on the carrier that the signal level will not cause damage.
I saw someone destroy 2 spectrum analysers while doing a demonstration to the customer by changing frequency on the radio under test taking the carrier outside of the notch!!
