To me, if an attenuator cannot dissipate the rated load constantly then that is not it¡¯s rated power.

Yes I am 100% aware that what I consider to be the rating is not the conventional way of thinking, but the rated load should be a constant and not have a maximum time limit.?
For proper loads and not adjustment loads, the rated load should be the constant not 30sec load. I always buy my ¡°power¡± loads based on the constant power and not the instantaneous ?ratings.?


I buy attenuators under two categories:
1, to cover the power constantly.
2. to make those small dB/power adjustments as and when needed.
