Re: How to use the tinySA Ultra audio signal generator function

A ferrite antenna is a magnetic directional antenna. Sometimes there may be a few extra turns of wire on the ferrite antenna for a connection to an external antenna.?
In the world of radio transmission and reception, there are both electric fields and magnetic fields.?

The older whip antennas on cars and trucks were for receiving the electric field for both AM and FM. Many newer cars use on-glass electric field antennas.?

If you generate a strong enough signal near the radio, it really doesn't matter.

My radio is a 1964-65 Channel Master 6519 transistor, battery operated radio that has a ferrite core antenna with coil around it. ?I don't know if this is what's meant by a "magnetic antenna" or not. ?But it sounds like maybe a direct connection is not needed. ?The radio also has a Marine Band and a Shortwave Band that I think also have sections of the ferrite core antenna for their reception, and it also has a telescoping antenna that I think is not used for AM but for the other Bands. ?I don't know if this info helps with the question/answer. ?Thanks.
