I just purchased a genuine TinySA Ultra from R&L Electronics after playing with the original TinySA for a couple of years.? I had been using the STM32CubeProgrammer software to update the firmware on my TinySA and found it also worked without any problem with the TinySA Ultra.? The only difference was the procedure for putting the device into DFU mode.? There is a submenu switch in the TinySA to select DFU mode while the procedure for the TinySA Ultra is pressing and holding the jog button next to the power switch DOWN (not to the right or left) before powering on the device.? DFU mode is confirmed by a blank screen.? The first time I tried, I made the mistake of not pressing the jog button to the right rather than directly DOWN.
My computer and software skills are more basic, so it helped to follow a thorough cookbook recipe for this procedure described in this PDF written by Don Wines, K5DW.? It is recommended on the TinySA website:
