This can be done with touch drag, but also when you use the jog switch to move the marker. The latter can more easily be done accidentally after using the jog switch for the menu

My thought is that, like marker 'Peak Search', dragging a marker is a clear indication the user no longer wants it to have a tracking attribute - unless the marker was dragged by mistake.
