Re: TA&G excursion on C&C dates & details needed

So we reached out to Tom Foden and he believes that the trip was in the spring of 2005 and originated in Trion before going up to Chattanooga and then down the TAG.? It then returned the way it came.? He seems to think that it was a joint trip of the CGHS and TAGHS.? Warren should be able to confirm that.??

John it was 2005 or 2006 but I always date stamped my slides so when I get a chance to see which Logan box they are in and look I¡¯ll let you know. That was a good trip. Sy Reich a former staffer from the old Railroad Magazine was on that trip. Those of us that organized it we¡¯re aware but we never made it known. On the 2007 trip the family of a former TAG executive was on that trip and I was the only one who knew it. Some rail fans being who they are would have pestered them unmercifully. I had my parents with me on the trip that you are referring to. There was the sort of rail fan on that trip that gives the rest of us a bad name. My Dad who is normally smooth as silk got rattled by him. He came up to me and said ¡°you know that boy that ain¡¯t right bright, we¡¯ll he is hanging so far out over the platform railing he is about to fall out.¡± So I had to go firmly ask him to stop and it made him very mad. I thought he was going to take a swing at me. He was once a fixture or should I say infamous in Chattanooga rail fan circles but I haven¡¯t seen or heard of him in years. I miss being able to have TAG trips. How I would have loved to have seen restored TAG 80 make it to Kensington!

?I am trying to identify the date and any available details of an excursion that visited Kensington, Ga. Train was C&C 102, a pair of TVRM coaches, and a Central of Georgia caboose. C&C 103 was in Kensington on that day. Somewhere between 2000 and 2006 probably.
