Feature suggestion

开云体育

Hi,

I am spending quite a bit of time in the object view and I would have a usability recommendation.

Each time I move up and down the list, I hear the name of the object, and then 5 numbers. When the numbers are more complex trying to organize several objects on a page, it is hard to hear and remember these numbers as my screen reader is speaking quickly.

I would like to suggest using a table view instead of a list view, in the first column it could even pronounce all the info, but I would be able to navigate the numbers individually with the four arrows. I know I can get this data from the context menu, but it could help a lot to internally visualize the layout of the page.

Thank you:

Tom

adding filters using the ribbon at top of the page

Hi there

not sure if this is just me, not sure if this is just a glitch and not sure if this was discussed before:

when adapting the images and wanting to make them sharper, I use the filter section and select the tool needed.

I have noticed that if I use the filters drop down menu the preview image is not shown as I try to change the parameters

whereas if I use the side bar for filters the image appears and I can see the adjustments made

Re: Introduction and image size question

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your quick response.

What I’m attaching is a drawing that mostly fills a braille page, this is the size I was looking for, but the image size isshowing as 32 centimeters wide.

We got to this through many iterations, starting from much smaller.

?

Thank you!

Hi Tom,

Are you first able to share the two documents as an example?

1. The original file that came from the designers.

?

And

?

2. The BPX file saved in TactileView.

?

This would give me a good idea as to knowing what is happening.?

Thanks

Also, I would like to start with a question, I am not sure if it is a bug, or I am not using the software properly.

?

The situation is that my designers are handing me pictures optimized for braille production. Ideally I would only have to load it into TactileView and print.

?

The problem is that when they are giving me a square of 9x9 inches, or 23x23 centimeters, the image loads in a completely different size. I had ones which were 2x2 cm, there was one which was 16x16, I even had a 68x68. These come from different people using different image editing software. The resolution is from about72 to 300 DPI, we tried different DPIs.

?

I would like to make sure that I don't have to resize or touch up in TactileView, because I am not able to verify it. When I tried resizing to 23 centimeters, the printout was dotty and spotty, so we have to play with numbers until we get it just right, so for example what shows as 4.3x4.3 inches for the designer comes in as 22x22 centimeters for TactileView which prints out just fine.

?

I was wondering what am I doing wrong. What can I tell the designers to use as image parameters so that I can load exactly the size they created no matter what image editing tool they use?

?

If it is not an appropriate question for the beta list, can you please refer me to where I can ask this question?

Hi Andrew,

Not sure if it helps at all, but I made a video of the issue. Perhaps it is an issue with my system alone? I have noticed this on my last several versions of TactileView. Maybe I have some sort of leftover broken component?from a previous version?

Thanks,
John

Another one for you. When applying a pattern/texture fill, the preview doesn't update when you change the size or rotation. Re: Graph axis thickness issue

Hi Andrew,

Yes, that's correct for me as well. The bitmap does change, the issue is that it never changes enough to actually have an impact on the braille width, so it effectively doesn't work.

John

In graph viewing properties, with my Index V5, even with the thickness of my X and Y axis to the max width (8px), I can not get to two braille dots wide thickness on my actual image. Kinda defeats the purpose of being able to change the thickness in the first place. I believe this one also has been broken like this for a long time. This likely is a nonissue for non-Index/Enabling embossers that may use multiple dot heights.

Perhaps it would be more useful to be able to choose how many braille dots wide you want you lines and Axis?rather than in pixels that don't ultimately result in a change to the braille thickness.

Please could you confirm what version of Duxbury are you using?

Also could you perhaps open the tactile images with the new TactileView and then save again.

Then try inserting them.

I downloaded the latest Beta version a couple of days ago that you had posted.

I have had this problem for a while now but have been unable to join the discussions as the Dept of Education here has been upgrading their Cyber Security.

I hope you can find something.

Another bug for you. I noticed that when in braille view, some dots in my graphic show as light gray, which would typically only appear if the braille printer you have configured is capable of multiple dot heights, aka a ViewPlus/Tiger embosser, if you do a print preview, the print preview does not show braille dots in the location of the grey dots at all.
