Hello!?
Bruce Gulke
From: Jeff Ibach [mailto:ocasek50@...]Well, the group is fairly new, and only has 19 members so far. IThey better...I just joined 2 days ago.Does anyone even use this group anymore? wouldn't expect a whole lot of traffic on a regular basis... If we want to get a dialog going, perhaps we could talk about some collaborative tables we could work on. I've got a few ideas myself that I've been meaning to look at when I could find the time: - Poem and Song Names (I suppose one could to generate the contents as well, though it might be difficult to come up with something that made sense :) - Contents of crates, barrels, sacks, etc. that one might find in supply closets and storage rooms of a dungeon or manor. - Ship names - Magic Item History Generator (I hate the idea of magic items being just run-of-the-mill things; I prefer the idea that anything permanent (like an enchanted sword, as opposed to something like a scroll or potion) was made for a reason, even if it's just a ring +2 or a sword +1; Baldur's Gate I/II were good with that, having some histories behind a lot of items that weren't necessarily all that special mechanically) - 3E Spellbook generator - 3E NPC generator(s) - "Random" dungeon generator; I say "random" because you could put a great deal of intelligence in such a table, so while it's "random", it still makes sense, moreso than a typical random generator that puts a king's chamber next to an underground storage room that houses three pteradons... This is part of the idea behind the "DungeonSmith" program I started working on, but I think the concept will have a better chance of seeing completion if I put the efforts into doing this in TableSmith than in a whole new program (and if new features get added to TableSmith to support that - so much the better). - Jewelery generator (one ships with TS, but it's pretty weak; it's needs to be greatly expanded) Just some thoughts... ----------------------------------------- Bruce Gulke akira@... quick question and comment, I just downloaded the tablesmith thing and
somethings aren't working well but that is to be expected. also the expanaded list looks great. I have made a complete jewels list from the dmg 3rd ed. i am working on converting over the complete magic items table. where do i send my tables to when i am done with them. Also i can work on the items History table if noone else wants to take it up. And has anyone got the dungeon map generator to work it looks like a great idea but I'm just racking my brain trying to figure it out. Anyone have any good rpg tool sites to inform to me im always searching for more more and more. On the same note does anyone know of any good egroups for 3rd d&d?? And as always Bruce is a god. |

From: shawn rogers [mailto:TheWhiteKnigh74@...]What isn't working for you? And has anyone got the dungeon map generator to work it looks like aThe "readme" file included with the ZIP file explains how to configure things to get the table to work - is it not clear enough? (Though you do hae to make sure you use the right version; there is one for TS2 and a newer one for TS3). ----------------------------------------- Bruce Gulke akira@...
