problem with interconnected tables that a table user may or may not want
modified

Sure, that's a problem with a wiki setup. Things might get changed you
don't want changed. I don't expect everyone to love my project, but even
so, there are a couple reasons you might consider supporting the Tablesmith
Online project even if you don't intend to use it exclusively:

*New Tables*
As things stand right now, new content for Tablesmith is few and far
between. Since the beginning of the year there has only been three tables
uploaded - an update to Town Generator, NPC Stat Block for Pathfinder, and
some wondering monster tables for Kingmaker. Since TSO makes it easier to
share tables, it might result in more tables being made available to the
community. Since the wiki tables are 100% Tablesmith tables, you can copy
them out of the wiiki to your local Tablesmith.

*Big Joint Projects*
With the stand-alone Tablesmith, it's pretty difficult to work on a project
with other Tablesmith users. With it online, multiple people could work on
a project easily. Things like adding a new bestiary to the wandering
monster tables or updating a treasure generator with a new book of
equipment gets done much easier if multiple people can do it. Again, once
it's done, you can copy it all out of the wiki for your own use.

*Personal Tables*
What happens when I want the "Gods" table to return Pathfinder gods, you
want Forgotten Realms, and somebody else wants Greyhawk? That's an
improvement to the Tablesmith engine Bruce & I are hoping to make with this
project.

None of this addresses the problem with interconnected tables that a table
user may or may not want modified or used. For instance I create a table
that has a call to a, which call b and c, c call the table d which I've
already decided I don't want.

Or the horrendeous case where since its a wiki, I don't get choice on any
changes occuring to a table that I use often. Someone else has decided to
modify the town generator and include results that skew my tables, or even
worse modify the carefully created probabilities that I have.

I believe that the singular custom-ability of TS to ones own campaign and
world are what makes in invaluable to many of us at the gaming table.
Making us use shared tables rips that away from building our worlds and
games. But I wish you well on this endeavor.

The TablesmithOnline Kickstarter is in the home stretch! To help push
things over the finish line, we're offering some new features to the
project:

Personal Account

At TablesmithOnline.com, you'll be able to log-in to your own personal
account. From there you can mark favorite tables which you'll be able to
easily roll and you can mark tables as hidden so that you never see them
as an option. You'll be able to use TSO easily, seeing just the tables
you want.

Developer API

We're going to make the functions of TSO an open developer API library.
Any programmer will be able to call the TSO website to log-in, get table
names, get names of favorite tables, and to request table rolls with
results. Anyone will be able to use TSO to make their own website,
mobile website, iPhone app, Android app, or anything they want.

If you haven't pledged yet, I hope that entices you to do it. If you
have already pledged and those added features make you really want this
project to happen, consider upping your pledge.
