Re: OT SUBJECT
Okay, already, I am staying, I'm staying, no little bit of nagging is
getting off this list. I like it here, most people are just wonderful, anyone acting holier than me, well, maybe they are. I've only been on this list for one week tomorrow and I've met a lot of great people, their light shines through. I am thankful for this group of people, I am a stay-at-home person, not by choice, but by chance, hubby is disabled and needs 24/7 care. And I am it. The computer is my outside line and I love it. Judy,
You might want to do what I did. After I had lots of squares done from trying different designs, I made a quilt top. Just put a contrasting color between each piece, put the same color for the lining and quilted it. Turned out well. You can also use the designs you have sewn out in greeting cards. The number of things you can do with them is only limited by your imagination. (mine runs wild at times) lol I am also new to this form of entertainment. I'll give Venus the benefit of the doubt. As moderator, I will trust you to control her in this group. When I gave her direct feedback, her response to me was she's not going to change and if I don't like it to block her e-mails. That's not the kind of attitude that's going to help any of us. I work in a Corporate environment. If I want people telling me off, I can stay at work. I see postings on the list from people who have a great deal of patience in helping folks to learn about using Yahoo groups. Those are the people we want to stay in the group... folks who are willing to help others. As I said in the beginning, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and trust you to control her redheaded temper. Regards with a smile, Janet ----- Original Message -----

Venus, what a lovely idea! I always haunt the thrift stores, and do pick up clothing that's in good shape to give to the shelters, but never thought (duh!) to practice my work on those. As the 'embellished' items are so popular with the kids, it's wonderful to think that they too can have what everyone else is wearing. I knew there was a reason I've been collecting all these kids designs! Thanks so much for the idea Venus. Laura

From: Judy Lehman Subject: [HookedOnEmbroidery] Question....... I am totally new to machine embroidery. My husband down loads my patterns for me and I plug them into my machine. All I have done is embroidery patterns on a piece of fabric, never a garment or anything else. I think maybe I am in the wrong group, I need a Beginning Group. I feel like I spend all my time converting thread colors over to Isacorde colors. I love what I have done, but now I feel I am ready to move on. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Well, I must have missed something! Where is Miems tutorial? I will never, ever be able to digitize like she does, but I'd sure love to learn. My folks gave me Thred for Christmas (I do have Embird) and I've just recently loaded it. I haven't a clue what to do next!! So a great tutorial would help me so much. Where do I need to look? Thanks all, Laura
