Re: Question.......

Judy Lehman

I thank all of you for your offer of support. I truly appreciate it. I am
a big talker, so just keep me in line every once in awhile...........gently.

Judy,
You say your embroidering out designs on fabric? Make a small lap quilt,
make a pot holder, make a wall quilt....patch them on a shirt, on a curtain,
etc. The things that you can do are endless...Just ask!

This is a wonderful group with wonderful people and you couldn't ask for a
better list Mom's than Daleen and Miems!!!!

I'm still learning how to do different things and learning different
techniques all the time. Learning anything from stitching something out to
learning software. Wow - what a deal of a group to be in.

I belong to over 100 groups and this is a super friendly group!!
Sometimes we forget to act like adults and the kids come out and bicker, but
then they each go to their corners and the adults are back, loving as ever.

Miems is SO full of knowledge and has the patience of an Angel. Venus is
a redhead that has a brilliant mind - give her a chance - she can be a whiz
to help you too! I could list every single member but then you would get a
book - giggle.

Welcome to the group and really look forward to your questions! If ya
need a site - ask! I have oodles of them those sites to share with you and
each are wonderful designers with beautiful sets to get you really inspired!

Re: Question.......

Thank you, they had some great ideas. I haven't been thinking beyond
clothing. That's what happens when you have eight grandchildren between the
ages of 9 and 3.

Hi Venus,

Thanks for this pattern for a cup wrap, I will give that a try.

Okay, already, I am staying, I'm staying, no little bit of nagging is
getting off this list. I like it here, most people are just
wonderful,
anyone acting holier than me, well, maybe they are.
I've only been on this list for one week tomorrow and I've met a lot
of
great people, their light shines through.

I am thankful for this group of people, I am a stay-at-home person,

I
am it.

The computer is my outside line and I love it.

Judy,

You might want to do what I did. After I had lots of
squares done from trying different designs, I made a
quilt top. Just put a contrasting color between each
piece, put the same color for the lining and quilted
it. Turned out well. You can also use the designs
you have sewn out in greeting cards. The number of
things you can do with them is only limited by your
imagination. (mine runs wild at times) lol I am also
new to this form of entertainment.

Re: Your moderator feel so sad!!!!!!!!!!

Miems,
I'll give Venus the benefit of the doubt. As moderator, I will trust you to
control her in this group. When I gave her direct feedback, her response to
me was she's not going to change and if I don't like it to block her
e-mails. That's not the kind of attitude that's going to help any of us.

I work in a Corporate environment. If I want people telling me off, I can
stay at work. I see postings on the list from people who have a great deal
of patience in helping folks to learn about using Yahoo groups. Those are
the people we want to stay in the group... folks who are willing to help
others. As I said in the beginning, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt
and trust you to control her redheaded temper.
Regards with a smile,
Janet

My dear friends I feel so sad. Members unsubscribe cause they just
can't take it any more. Why? Please can't we just for one day think

process of loosing real honoust, soft harted and decent people.
Please may I beg you to be kind to one another. We are 1,700 members,
all with different backgrounds, different believes but all with harts

body. We are not in competition with each other. Please live and let
live. Let us help those who still try so hard to find there feet in
the computer and embroidery field. You know what? I joined my first
group after I lost my husband after 22 years of marriage. He died
right in front of me( heartatache). I seek comfort, help and myself
in the groups. We are all so vunerable(hope my spelling don't let me
down) We all are women, the best creation God ever made. We on this
group can make the difference.Just for once give your unconditional
love to one another. There are leaders and I believe with Venus
knowledge she is one. Ladys she did not mean to harm anybody. She
did not mean to torn my group apart. Please forgive, forget and let
us all get pass this and give her our unconditional love and support.
You will be surpriced what big difference a little love can make

Venus, what a lovely idea! I always haunt the thrift stores, and do pick up clothing that's in good shape to give to the shelters, but never thought (duh!) to practice my work on those. As the 'embellished' items are so popular with the kids, it's wonderful to think that they too can have what everyone else is wearing. I knew there was a reason I've been collecting all these kids designs! Thanks so much for the idea Venus. Laura

Subject: [HookedOnEmbroidery] Question.......
I am totally new to machine embroidery. My husband down loads my patterns
for me and I plug them into my machine. All I have done is embroidery
patterns on a piece of fabric, never a garment or anything else. I think
maybe I am in the wrong group, I need a Beginning Group. I feel like I
spend all my time converting thread colors over to Isacorde colors. I love
what I have done, but now I feel I am ready to move on. Any suggestions
would be very much appreciated.

Well, I must have missed something! Where is Miems tutorial? I will never, ever be able to digitize like she does, but I'd sure love to learn. My folks gave me Thred for Christmas (I do have Embird) and I've just recently loaded it. I haven't a clue what to do next!! So a great tutorial would help me so much. Where do I need to look? Thanks all, Laura

Re: New embroiderer question

Judy Lehman

Thank you Carolyn. I am not new to sewing, I now own two Bernina's a Juki
and the embroidery machine. I think I need to sit down and take the time to
read the book on how to place the embroidery. I think I have just about got
hooping down. My mother-in-law sent down two new sweatshirts. I can cut
those down the middle and practice on those. I use to do a lot of hand
embroidery, I went and dug out all of that stuff. I think I may be ready to
try something. It's just thread and fabric.....must remember that.

Judy in California

Something I told a fairly new embroiderer a few weeks ago was "it is
only thread and only fabric, so enjoy it. Start out doing designs on
some old clothing that you would not be sad if things did not go
well." (Or on nightgowns that no one will see but you and your
family) Well, she got going on embroidering and is having a
ball.........and even has some nice things to wear with embroidery on
them. :)
We have all had the same worries about getting started, but the more
you embroider, the easier it will become. :) Before you know it,
you will be answering people's questions and on the list!!
<gggggg> I wish you all the best! :)
