An RAR file is a packed file. You have to empty its contents (using
WinRAR, I think); if you type in "RAR file" and get the internet to search for it, there is quite some detail on the website. Louise --- In HookedOnEmbroidery@..., "croknitsewfab1" <sue- parker@...> wrote: Futura software or my PED software. |
Re: How do I make a magnet from an embroidery design?
Michele Rietz
Unless your design is specificly digitized to be a free standing lace
design, stitching it on WSS will result in you having just a wad of thread after you soak it. If it is a design that needs to be stitched on cloth you might want to stitch it as a badge or patch and glue a magnet to the back. Re: Angel of Light-Free
Jodi
Sonia,
Thank you so much for the beautiful design. I plan on having the Angel in the mail to Brandi tomorrow. This has so much meaning for my family. Our youngest DD has Crohn's Disease. We came very close to losing her when she was diagnosed at age 11. She is now 13 and her last check-up was better. Her weight is up, we are trying to wean her off of 1 medicine and reducing the dosage on another, so far so good. I will be praying for Brandi and her family. Please keep us updated. I just cannot imagine the fear this family is facing. I hope all will send an Angel their way and they will feel the prayers sent up for them. I am thinking I will make several of them and send to the Children's Hospital my DD goes to, they would look beautiful in the Gastro Dept., the Clinic area we go to for checkups too. I don't think you realized the amazing impact this one beautiful design would have for Brandi, her family, all of us, and many many more people. Just imagine what nurses, doctors, and visitors to Brandi, and others just passing her room will see and feel at the sight of all the angels watching over her! My Thanks and Prayers to you too Sonia. How do I make a magnet from an embroidery design?
PattiAnnie
Hi All:
I have a little penguin design that I would like to stitch out and make into a refrigerator magnet for my son. ("Oh Mommy, I just LOVE penguins! They're my FAVORITE! Can we move to Antarctica so I can have a penguin for a pet? I promise I'll wear my coat!") What is the best way to do this? Should I use water-soluble stabilizer just like I would for a FSL design? Or should I use tulle or tear-away stabilizer? This is new territory for me so I would greatly appreciate some expert advice! Thank you! Patti Bernius (and Patrick Bernius, age 4) Tulsa, OK |

Warning - Found virus in a freebie embroidery file tonight
Hi everyone. I am sending this out to the groups for folks who are doing
machine embroidery. You probably need to make sure your anti-virus is up to date and run it if it doesn't do it automatically. I had two files on my computer that were zip files with embroidery designs in them. I have had them on my computer for several months now and my anti-virus never caught it. But tonight it did so it must have been something that was added to a recent virus update. The two files I had were: twobirdsonbranch.zip words_4_mothers_day_PES.zip I dont know where they came from as I dont file my designs by designer. But they would have been free files because that is the file in which I had them located. Luckily I had not opened either zip file yet my whole system wasn't infected. I am suspecting that whoever had the files on their site had a virus they didnt know about when they uploaded them. So just be sure to check your files and if you have those two, dont open them. And be sure to update and re-run you anti-virus software. Just didnt want anyone getting hit with them by opening the files. Mark Neat group for buying/selling craft & sewing supplies! |
Re: Angel of Light-Free & Request

Sonia,
I have stitched out your beautiful Angel and will get it in the mail to Brandi tomorrow. Now I have a request of you. I had identical triplet grand-daughters born on Jan. 12th. They are doing fabulously well and will probably be coming home in about a week, thanks to the care they have received from the real live Angels in the NICU in Annapolis Md. I stitched out several FSL angels for them before they were born and their isolets are adorned with them. I had decided that I am going to continue sending Angels to the NICU so that every little one who passes through will have Angels looking over them. I would like to have your permission to include your Angel in future donations. She is so dainty and precious, I thing she will be perfect for the tiny angels in the NICU. Prayers are going out for Brandi and her family. And also for you for being such kind and thoughtful friend to her. Thank you so much for this lovely gift. Not only the angel but the reminder to us all that we really are after all "our brothers keepers". Have a blessed evening, MaryJo |
Re: Angel of Light-Free QUESTION
Cyndi Jannello
I did one for Brandi in varigated tones of darker pink and it is beautiful.
Will go out in the mail first thing Monday. May I use the design to stitch Angels to be sold at our Church bazaar in the fall? The Angel is a beautiful design, Thanks Sonia ! Cyndi J. --------------------------------- Cheap Talk? Check out Yahoo! Messenger's low PC-to-Phone call rates. |

Re: software
carolprice2000
Q.
I am looking for a simple software that will size and change density I use pe-design for my Esante but it will not let me do anything with larger patterns for my Tajima. I am limited to my smaller hoops I would like to do some lettering but can not go larger than 5x7 with pe- design. I am just trying to get started here and have a very limited supply of money. I have no plans at this time to start digitizing I just want to sew. Thanks Pat A. Pat what version of Pe-design are you using? I think only version 1 and maybe 2 was limited to the 5x7 hoop. To change the hoop size, go to options --> design page properties. If your software is restricted to the hoop size, and you need your design in a DST format, type in your text, don't worry about the hoop size and do a FILE --> Export and choose DST. To resize, will depend on the version you are using. To resize in versions 1-5 you will need to do a sew --> stitch to block and then be able to resize and keep the density. In version 6-7 you can press and hold the CTRL key as you resize and keep the density. Carol Price tutorials for pe-design version 2-7 |
