There are so many different variations you can do with this. I am making one that uses a ribbon draw string instead of the elastic.

To add to your project, I did this same project last year but used
fiberglass screening. Use WSS. Instead of lace, I used wide bias tape
around the edge. Just a thought! And boy, was it a hit at the picnic!
