When I worked "out" in the big world, I had a high end office chair. At the time the flooring in the office was tiled. It left terrible, terrible marks on the tiled floor. The building maintenance man said it was bcause the rollers were made of the wrong composition for tile, it was too soft, therefore, leaving the black marks. They switched out the casters to the correct ones and immediately no problem.
After a time the office was carpeted and my chair had a heck of a time rolling around . . . the maintenance man chuckled and told me to be glad he had kept the original rollers. He changed those out and life was good.
It's amazing how something that seems simple can cause soooo many problems. Good luck.
