Softrock RX Ensemble II case / casing / enclosure

New to the group, greetings to all.

I now own a softrock rx ensemble 2 and would like to know if anyone here
could point me to where to buy casing for the receiver. I would like to keep
it inside a proper case. Any suggestions or leads?

Thank you in advance.

KM5H used to supply a case for the Ensemble II. However, it appears his
website is gone. I don't know if anyone has a few saved up somewhere or not.

I made my own using an aluminum box. I forget the supplier or the part
number of the box, but the Ensemble II fit it perfectly. It just involves
some work drilling and cutting the holes to allow access for the various
ports. I used a nibbling tool to cut the rectangular holes.

Search for the website on archive.org. There's a good chance you'll at
least see photos of it.

Sadly, no images of the actual box were preserved under Archive.org records.

I think the solution will be buying a case and adapt the board best I can.

There is a 3D printed design at:

Is this plastic? I prefer a metal box, for several reasons.

This video shows a very nice case. Probably the one no longer being made.

I used a radio shack project box, 5.25" long, 2" high, and 3" deep. for my RXTX ensemble. I don't know the exact number, but Bud, Hammond, LMB Heeger are other brands that are similar. Check www.mouser.com or www.digikey.com
