Ensemble TXRX imput levels
I have a unit I just got from Tony assembled. Looking for specs on it but can't fins any anywhere I have looked. I have the receiver working though some images but the transmitter is giving me fits. I get very little out. I see the driver 2N2222 with lots of RF and lots on the PA as well/ The PA has 12 volts on it. The USB audio device is a Behringer UCA202. The info I really need is what levels I should see out of the UCA202 into the TXRX unit. Also what should setting look lile on SmartSDR? I have the modified 2.4 version
It controls the frequency control fine. But maybe 20mw out Also VAC settings... are they for the PC audio in and out? The primary audio settings I assume to be the UCA202. But I cannot verify this online. Is there a how-to anywhere on setting this all up? -- GeorgeC W2DB |

This is my description any SDR program will be the same. 73 Alan G4ZFQ |
I use the UCA202 as well.? At the beginning I was a bit puzzled as I indeed I needed two soundcards to TRX. So currently I use a terratec Aureon 5.1 for the mic input and the headphone output, so it is not directly connected to the RXTX. The UCA202 is the one actually connected to the Softrock RXTX. Set the output level of the UCA high enough (with the PC sliders), at least 50% but maybe 80-100%. Of course you have to set the mic input level on the other soundcard as well (maybe between 25 and 50%). Check first with FM that is easier. Then check the CW and SSB output. They shoud turn to be the same or close to.

As for power output from your Softrock RXTX, the following site has a method to test or RF. Using the free program IQout and the CFGSR utility you can have a power out test. Using a dummy 50ohm load and a simple diode as a ? wave rectifier use a DVM to measure voltage when you adjust the output of the IQout utility.
