ensemble rxtx question
I purchased this kit in 2012 and and had a stroke .I.ve finally recovered enough motor skills to build the kit. Now on to my question I'm in the local osc. stage and ever thing seems to be 'almost ok" , my computer recognizes the rxtx as a usb device. I can read all the info off the si570. but when i check for output om my ts450 I think i can hear it but its really weak . the other problem is when I check the test tab my p2/cw is staying green all the time. Is this normal? I've triple checked all components and removed and re soldered the si570 using solder paste and a rework station. Any ideas?? Any and all help appreciated.

Are you running the pa test ? Did you watch the HamNation 82 test that was
done, its in the latter half of the episode. ? They had a similar problem it was incorrectly installed T3 , the orientation of the secondary windings matters, incorrect phasing of the windings will result in reduced output . At that stage the Si570 signal will not be very strong unless you bring an antenna wire close to it. I'm not sure if the CFGSDR green CW lights change at this stage of construction. 73 Alan G4ZFQ |
