Please explain.
The v5 must be very old. I do not remember it.
How do you expect to develop it?

You don't say where you're located but I have four as new unbuilt Softrock 5 kits in the UK.
There are four QSD boards with components and two each oscillator filter boards with components for 80m and 160m.

These are part of a large number of Softrock kits, built and unbuilt, that I offered for sale here in January 2019 as a complete collection.
I was asking 200 GBP for the lot, approx half new price, which I still think is a very reasonable investment given what I've seen individual items selling for, but I had no response.
That offer still stands, and full details are still in the group files section, but I'm not currently looking to sell any items separately.

Nigel,
Could you give details of the softrock kits and cost of shipping to denmark
?

Thanks for asking, have replied off list.

Hi Alan,
I have lots of DDS and SI oscillators and want to experiment with!
The SR5 is a very basic switching mixer, with a simple, RC phase shift , with two comparators , a local xtal oscillator , low noise af amplifiers and a plug in antenna filtering.

I am mostly interested in the mixer and the audio amps. I can feed external fundamental vfo IQ feed, or, use an external 74AC74 to divide a straight vfo. Can be used as a simple monural rx, by feeding the audio amps to a TDA3820 stereo amplifier, etc etc

Thanks for the offer, Nigel, but, I only need an SR5

Sorry that should read TDA2822

There are very few resources on the SR5, but in the files section, there is just one reference. The only other reference that I managed to find is here :

Paul,

Yes, before my time. A lot different to the v6 when I first found Softrocks.
Over the years I "upgraded" all my v6 Lites with plug-in BPFs and USB Si570s. Similar with my 6.1, 6.3 RXTXs.

Nigel,

I do not think any files have been lost. I did look at MediaFire but was not happy. Too many traps.
I looked at my copy of the zip and it looks much the same as this group's File section including some Softrock 4 files, something else I'd never looked at.

Traps were distracting, but I find I'd downloaded it twice.

Incidentally, have you ever used a switching mixer without sn input tuned circuit of passband filter !
I did, and it works. But, has not used it enough to check for birdies etc .

Paul,

Yes, it will work.
How well depends on signals at odd multiples of the primary tuned frequency.
At 3 times there is an "attenuation" of about 9dB of the higher frequency, more as the number of multiples increases. (Due to the fact that at 3 times the frequency only one in three samples contributes to the output and less for higher frequencies.)
Unknown will be the effect of strong signals anywhere.
