Shirley
My question is do they all?
The ones I tested did not seem to have a problem like Leif's video shows.

Shirley, that is great info. Thanks for taking the time to compile and post that.
PowerSDR for the Softrock RXTX transmits at 10 (or maybe it is 11) KHz offset, which eliminates the noise always

Re: RXTX Transmit
Many sound cards produce a lot of ultrasonic noise. It's caused by the use
of noise shaping in the converters; that's a technique that reduces noise
in the audible spectrum at the expense of creating

Hello Alan,
IDK about more recent soundcards. I did change mine from the Focusrite tested in the pdf to a Creative XFi, but I no longer have access to the spectrum analyzer that I borrowed for the

All,
I have two old Tony Parks RXTX ensemble kits, KB9YIG, I would like to

Roger,
I had forgotten that. I had made Leif's simple "mod" using my D44s at full output and attenuators.
I have recently changed things with a new computer. Only room for one internal card and no

Re: RXTX Transmit
The 150 kHz bandwidth would allow viewing a panadapter bandwidth of 300kHz if the audio card could sample at 150ks/s. The actual bandwidth is less, but people routinely use 96ks/s audio cards to see a

Re: RXTX Transmit
I looked more closely at the transmit spectrum, and I see significant energy +/- 50 KHz from the carrier. This seems to be coming out of my sound card. Of course, for audio, one would never hear this,

Re: WTB: 20M v6.2 RXTX
For clarification purposes...
When I said Cost is an issue, it is not a statement that I am looking for a freebie... It simply means that I need one at the lowest cost possible...
I hope this

I still do not know what model you have. A v6.3 is probably over 10 years old. An Ensemble is current as you described, integrated USB, built for a limited number of bands.
I'm not sure but

Just exactly what do you want to do?
Normally you do not need any, just enable TX.

Softrock RXTX contest machine
The Softrock RXTX might not be the latest innovation in ham radio but, I am glad Tony sent me a brand new 40-30-20m card. I had already a 15-12-10m card so I swapped between the two during the WWDXSSB
