Re: SdrDX on OS X - Script for Ensemble RX II
Tom,
This is the software I mentioned in my previous message- looks like he has a handle on it.

Re: Ensemble RXTX Project Sucess!
A very nice case indeed. Why not give serious consideration to world wide Flat Pack sales of your design ?

Re: SdrDX on OS X - Script for Ensemble RX II
I get it now Tom.
I thought there already was a USB/Macintosh interface to the Softrocks? I'm fairly sure there was/is. It may have been for DSP Radio. There are a few Windows applications that are in

Re: SdrDX on OS X - Script for Ensemble RX II
Sorry for the confusion- here's the original message.
Has anyone out there set up a Python routine to capture center freq info from
SdrDX and send it out to the Ensemble II?

Re: SdrDX on OS X - Script for Ensemble RX II
Not getting a lot of response, I'll try to expand a little.
I am running SdrDX on a MacBook Pro. It listens to the Ensemble RX II nicely. I would like to be able to tune (set the center frequency) of

Receivers for sale
I have two of the lite II combined kits that I built as starter kits before moving up to the more advanced softrocks.
One for 40 meters, one for 20. Both working. I receive many WSPR and JT65 weak

Toroids: Full Coverage vs. The Gap
As a follow-on the the 40/30/20 filter discussion and the toroid winding strategy:
On my test filter, 16 turns on yellow T37 cores, 220, 470, 220 pF caps, terminated in 47 ohms, measured with a 10X

Re: Anyone built the Ensemble RXTX for 40-30- & 20 meters ?
David
Your concerns are valid and there are enough variables here that I think we need more testing and confirmation before ratifying this change.
I have put the new filter in place in the 40/30/20

Re: Anyone built the Ensemble RXTX for 40-30- & 20 meters ?
Is it the consensus that this rule applies to all toroidal inductors? Like the 12 that I just built (apparently poorly) for my ensemble rx II? In the 4 BPF circuits?
Crap. The thought of going

Re: Anyone built the Ensemble RXTX for 40-30- & 20 meters ?
I did some tests on a 40-30-20 build. Instead of an oscilloscope,
which adds probe capacitance (especially on 10X), I measured with a
VSWR bridge that uses OpAmps to drive a galvanometer. The

Hi All,
I thought that you might like to have a preview of the preformance of the filter thats used as part of the Murphy QRO Mods.
I have included the results of the SoftRock 40 30 20 Filter as

Re: Anyone built the Ensemble RXTX for 40-30- & 20 meters ?
Paul,
I just found time to have closer look at my Ensemble. The original power measurements I made were with a Watson power / SWR meter at the low end of it's range, so could be a little out. I

Re: Anyone built the Ensemble RXTX for 40-30- & 20 meters ?
Only 3dB attenuation at 20MHz though according to Elsie so probably not good for 30m.
If you are prepared to parallel capacitors, I got -0.25dB at 14.3MHz and -15dB at 20MHz by only changing the

Using 220pF/800nH/470pF and 47 ohm load:
-3dB at 15.2 MHz
-6dB at 16.5 MHz
-10dB at 17.9 MHz
and FWIW, -1.5dB at 14.3 MHz.

Re: Anyone built the Ensemble RXTX for 40-30- & 20 meters ?
Actually, the notes had a reference to the Norcal QRP dummy load which had
a built-in RF detector circuit. However, the point is valid in that the
notes were not clear on the point.
I have modified
