ensemble rx ii has a problem
what did I do wrong on my softrock ensemble rx II? I'm using the cheap

use it as my input.

SMT/Solder Paste Question
I am planning the build of an Ensemble RX and I am thinking of trying the griddle-heat gun reflow method to install the SMT parts. As far as blocking out time to apply the solder paste and place

Re: Introducing the Hermes-Lite
Hello Sid,
The Hermes FPGA code I ported is the stock one used in the full-blown Hermes, DDC/DUC. It has nothing to do with the RTL-SDR and upconverters.

Re: Ensemble II RX problem
Just an update... Tony checked out the board and all was well. When I received it back I tried using a cheap (VERY CHEAP) USB soundcard and while not optimal the RX at least worked. So it appears

Re: Introducing the Hermes-Lite
Hi Steve,
One question I forgot to ask elsewhere - Is the Hermes RTL code referred to the Hermes code for the RTL-SDR dongle and HF upconvertor?

I started building SR Combined Lite 2 for K3 from kit I have bought a long time ago. I got the 32.768MHz crystal from Tony years ago and it is SMD type. It didn't have any info about the pad

Re: Advice re best program for weak signal work
I compared the Softrock 144 MHz Ensemble II with my FT290RII, which is
known to be a little deaf. They compared favorably in receive sensitivity.
I'd recommend adding a low-noise preamp with 20 dB or

Re: softrock40
Yes!
Select CW mode and open the "CW Tools" menu. You will be able to select between paddles and the straight key.... and key away!

Softrock Lite II defective crystal, and an interesting result...
I recently built the 20M version of the softrock Lite II and enjoyed monitoring CW on 20M. I no longer have an HF station, so this little unit is how I get my "fix". Between one use and the next it

Should you want to eliminate the subharmonic sampling, you can use an ICS501 with the crystal that came with the kit. If you look in the files section, June 26 2007 I have an article called
