Dave You do not say what frequencies you are wanting. The cheap RTL dongles are incorporated in several receivers.

This is not a SoftRock style, but a direct sampling receiver. It offers two channels and it is likely the cheapest option around. I believe LinRad samples both channels and it offers diversity
