Postings seem to have tapered off - so I'll fill the air. Since my last post, I have had to rethink my small N scale layout (Guelph Junction), and make it smaller. Originally I was working with a

Re: Op systems for small layouts
Maurice, I would not be concerned about reptition with car cards and waybills. By simply creating extra waybills that can be cycled through the available car cards, you will get plenty of variability.

Re: Op systems for small layouts
Maurice Have you thought about Alan Wright's Tiddlywink Computer? He invented Inglenook Sidings and this is probably the simplest system for a small layout. Email me if you want a copy Jack

Re: Op systems for small layouts
You may want to investigate a program called (I think) "Wagonflow" - I know there's a detailed website about it but don't have the URL to hand. I think there's a link at www.railwaymodelling.co.uk if

A brief introduction...
Hi, I'm Del from Brighton, England, soon to be in Co.Leitrim, Ireland. I have been interested in small layouts for a long time as we have never had a spare room or basement to fit a large layout. I'm

Re: Op systems for small layouts
I have been investigating car card systems for my small layout. It is five and a half by seven feet in N-scale. I haven't really worried about the problems you point out because the layout is going to

Op systems for small layouts
Is anyone using any kind of operating system with a small layout? I'm talking car-cards or computerized systems. The waybill type car-cards seem to me would be too repetitive for a small layout/ small

MRP Layout Plans?
Just wondering -- has anyone tried building any of the smaller layout plans that have appeared in Model Railroad Planning? I'm thinking of the collection of 5-by-9 plans in particular, but I'd also be

Another "newbie"
Hi all, Some of you know me from other lists... I'm hardly a "newbie" to the hobby, but since I'm working on the first real layout design I've ever done, I've decided to join here. The layout is not

Track plans, New Haven line, Danbury branch?
I think we've got a plan here ... my wife and I talked it over and we think that what we'd like to do is a small layout, very portable, to begin our foray into N-scale. I'm thinking that it would be
