Hi all, I noted that Christy and Mandy are connected to Tibetan Buddhist centers and so am I. There are a group of 3 temples in Howell NJ which were started by the Kalmyk Mongolian community. There is also a temple and large learning center in Washington, NJ and several centers in NY state. Thanks Christy on letting me know that what sounds like Buddhism has a very vibrant presence in Arkansas, that I will have to pay a visit to one of these days. I studied Asian Cultures and the concept of the Heart/Mind in Chinese Confucianism resonates with me as well. As important as the mind is, Mencius--Confucius' philosophical successor--favored the heart because it was capable of expanding exponentially. I feel it is that played out taking this course. Hello All, A group of women came to my house yesterday for our first meeting focusing on Creating Compassionate Communities. We began by reading the Sacred Space Vision and Purpose then a facilitator led a book group. We ended the meeting with a quiet contemplative time. It was lovely. The feedback from the group and interest in the Sacred Space concept was positive. I’m so grateful to Teresa Cowan Jones for her vision and for this connection. Many thanks Courtney Davis
