Re: Finally!

Perhaps; however, almost all of the ones I've observed here have a solid white head?

Mountain Chickadee may be down from the mountains at this time of year. The white stripe through the eye is sometimes hard to see.

Black capped Chickadee does not occur in the Central Valley. It¡¯s range in California is restricted to coastal del Norte and Humboldt counties.?

Chestnut backed chickadee is possible but it is also rare on the valley floor. If you do have that species, it would be great if you can get a photo documenting it or have birders come to document it for you.?

Happy for you that you have a spotted towhee in your yard. They are indeed beautiful.?

Sincerely?

Hi, All!

Normally, I'd refrain from doing what so many others do; however, since it only took close to a dozen years, I just wanted to say that one of most colorful birds I've ever seen, finally came to feast on my rear deck...a Spotted Towhee!!!? He's been here on at least 6-7 occasions over the past few weeks and on one, the guy spent almost 15 minutes here.? Oh, and after being at this location (Citrus Heights), I was finally visited by Black Capped Chickadees.
