Bald Eagles and American Coots

The American Coot is a favorite among Bald Eagles and there is a large community of them on the other side of the road at the Cosumnes River Preserve.? This might not be a good thing. Morris did some research and learned that The Coot likes to dine on Hydrilla which contains a neurotoxin that is then digested by the Eagle. But the Eagle population in our area seems to be increasing so hopefully (for the sake of both the Coots and the Eagles), there¡¯s not a lot of hydrilla around here for the Coots to feed on.
