Re: Plan to Bird Yuba County

Nancy...there used to be great flocks of the 'pies all over most of the greater Sacramento area; however, the West Nile virus decimated their populations several years back and while they're still around, not in as great numbers as back before 2010.

I used to see Yellowbilled Magpie's around this area usually on large front lawns but I haven't seen them in quite some time? Are they still around Sacramento and I'm just missing them?

Subject: [sacramento-birds] Plan to Bird Yuba County

We are planning to bird Yuba County starting in Maryville WT Plant on Friday, Nov. 13th.
Other than recommending using ebird, can anyone recommend a local park that is their favorite.
We're birders and want to visit all the local parks and ebird hot spots.
Two species we'd like to find are the Yellowbilled Magpie and Tundra Swans.
