Today finishes off the last Friday we will see this year and only two more days until the whole year will be done. I don't know about all y'all, but as I get older these years seem to get shorter. An old friend up in New Jersey once told me that life is like a roll of toilet paper, the closer to the end you get, the faster it goes. I'm not at the end of that roll by any means but somehow, I just don't worry about the days and years very much. I'm grateful for the many friends that I have, such as all the classmates from San Jacinto Elementary, Washington Junior High, Edison Junior High and Central High School. And, even more grateful for all the years we have shared that friendship and all the years we can look forward to. I guess what I am trying to say is Thank You for being a friend and wishing you a Happy New Year. Take especially good care of yourselves and stay warm.

A friend...slightly younger...10 years or so younger...said that at five, Christmas to Christmas is 1/5 of one's life... a big chuck.? But at 77, a year is only 1/77 of one's life, not a very big chunk.? So, the time does seem to fly.? We are thankful we can still fly together!!? Happy New Year to each of you and your loved ones. ??

Mary Ann, My husband calls filling his daily pill dispensers "pill Bingo". He grabs all his pill bottles and weekly dispensers and sits at the kitchen table "playing". I guess I am fortunate bc I take 1 pill daily (thyroid).?

Is it other people's experience that Christmas seems to bring
bunches of trouble to us grown-ups? I acquired two hits, both
automotive, one to my engine and another to my rear bumper,
probable total about $2.5K. But lots of people have sudden health
issues, some possibly because if you're sick, you're easier for
Santa to find and you have decreased responsibilities. But I
remember the magic of Christmas that dates from when Christmas was
1/5 of my life and probably long before. I look around inside me
and find that magic hasn't been erased. In fact, I've had practice
at struggling to fanning the flame some years and won the battle,
and now I find it growing. I betcha the basic feeling is identical
for you, too. So MERRY CHRISTMAS here on January 1--and 2 and 3
and on and on. And then Merry Christmas and Happy Easter, too, on
March 31. Or Happy Hanukkah and Happy Passover or whatever. And if
it takes a little battling to fan the flames and light the lights,
well, sic 'em.

Don, I guess that our erratic fall weather in Texas brings lots of illness that we sure don't "have time for".? Most of our friends and family have padded our favorite doctor's pocketbook.? The truck loads our house Wed...37 years in one house accumulates way too much stuff.? Our kids are glad that at least one purge has happened!!

Today finishes off the last Friday we
will see this year and only two more days until
the whole year will be done.
I don't know about all y'all, but as
I get older these years seem to get shorter.
An old friend up in New Jersey once
told me that life is like a roll of toilet paper,
the closer to the end you get, the faster it goes.
I'm not at the end of that roll by
any means but somehow, I just don't worry about
the days and years very much.
I'm grateful for the many friends
that I have, such as all the classmates from San
Jacinto Elementary, Washington Junior High, Edison
Junior High and Central High School. And, even
more grateful for all the years we have shared
that friendship and all the years we can look
forward to.
I guess what I am trying to say is
Thank You for being a friend and wishing you a
Happy New Year.
Take especially good care of
yourselves and stay warm.
