Re: Calling all MIA's

Biggest? ?project down our way has been yard work, John.? Humidity has been horrible but that's the way it is down here.? Drenched in sweat after mowing and weed eating.? The wind farm that has been built on Rancho La Union is about complete so I won't have much to do except drive the fence lines and make sure the border smugglers haven't cut the fence anywhere to let their load through.? Just business as usual down here on the border.?

Thank you to those who wished me a happy birthday. I haven¡¯t had a bad week, just not a great week. Took Phil to ER Monday morning and finally got to bring him home Thursday before dark.?
He was running a fever and they ran IV antibiotics to slow down the infection. Now back to oral and hope it works for a while.?
Meanwhile, I got to play bridge Monday evening with my bridge club. So my birthday was not a wash out! ?
We have had lots of rain and clouds and more rain to come. Many graduations going on around here, and I love seeing the pictures of those young and hopeful faces. Hard to believe we were ever that young! ?
Memorial Day is coming up and I hope we will make a run to find a grave in an Arkansas cemetery. One of Phil¡¯s ancestors.?

At this point it is more or less up to the businesses whether they require or at least request the wearing of a mask. Since I do most of the "running errands", I still wear a mask when I go into any place.
With Sandy's very compromised immune system, I just can't take a chance on "bringing something home". I don't think I have ever used so much hand sanitizer as I do now.

John, I think you say a lot busier than some of us!

We have been watching our 3 year-year old grandson on Fridays, and since school will be out next week, we'll also have his 6 year-old brother during the summer.? It will be more of a challenge, but we're blessed to have the time to spend time with these youngest grandchildren as they are growing up.? Our oldest granddaughter, soon to be 25, is engaged to be married next year; the middle two (siblings) are working, and in college and high school.??

Things are starting to feel more "normal" here in Ohio.? As of this weekend, our church sent out notice that masks will not be required, but they would appreciate them being worn.? A couple sections will still be set aside for definite wearing of masks and social distancing (every other pew used, and space out between families), but the rest will have every pew available.? Tim and I have been vaccinated and I feel pretty safe, but we still wear masks in public, except outdoors.? As of next weekend, our governor said masks will no longer be required for those who have been vaccinated; it will be up to individual businesses as to whether they require them for staff and customers.? I believe Texas has been without a mask requirement for quite a while now, right?

We have spring flowers blooming, and right about now it should be safe to plant flowers, veggies., etc.!??

Take care, All!

Gloria

?
Well, here it is Saturday and I have not seen a single post on here since Wednesday. I am quite sure all y'all have not been put in storage so I know most of you have been doing something or another.
Went over to the church this morning for a Saturday morning work day. Had five workers show up as well as the preacher's wife and two year old son since the preacher was one of the workers. We changed out the ballasts and bulbs in five 4' fluorescent light fixtures which, of course, required a lot of ladder climbing. Only a couple of the guys feel safe on the ladders so my son and I did several of the lights while the others passed us the tools and held the ladders steady.
Two year old, Reed, was a big help as he was built lower to the ground so he picked up a lot of the pieces of wire and other things we dropped. Sure saved the backs of a lot of old men. Of course, Mommie was there to direct him to what needed to be picked up and what not to touch.
All in all, we had a good day, lots of pleasant conversation and even got things done.
Now, what have all y'all been up to?
