Hello all, Has anyone ever setup or thought about setting up a computer to record repeater audio and storing it to a cloud resource, or is anyone else interested in that sort of thing? Mark

Does anyone know if TE Systems is still in business? I sent them an email last Monday asking about pricing and availability of two six meter repeater amplifiers and have not received any response. I'm looking to purchase a 150 to 300 watt amp. Has anyone on the list had first hand experience with TE Systems repeater amps? Thanks, Dan WD4LUR

I have a Kenwood TK-6110 that I am putting on 6 meters (almost). I have a modified version of the KPG-59D software to increase the frequency range to 54 Mhz for 6 meters. Everything works except for the sensitivity setting in test mode. I am attempting to set the value to 255 at 54 Mhz, 215 at 50 Mhz and 135 at 42.00 Mhz. I have changed the test channels to 42, 50 and 54 Mhz and everything looks normal but all 3 of the values get the same value as the last entry. I would like to have the front end tuning tracking as I have some Rx only channels in the 42 Mhz range. I also don't understand what the low, center and high tabs do on the sensitivity menu? Hopefully someone in the brain trust can give me a nudge in the right direction? Jack K6YC

Anyone have one they are not using that they would sell cheap along with the program cable? I also have a ics quantar pi zero for sale. It's new. I want to go a hardware route vs pi zero route. I just need remote disable and courtesy beep. The northcomm will fill that bill just fine. I'm not a pi expert and can't get the ics configured properly. I know I've written about this before but since then the threat has increased to the 222-225MHz Spectrum. The FCC has issued additional licenses to the Company "Chaos" with high powered Radar Testing in the spectrum. The first experiences we had with this was in Hermosa Beach area of Los Angeles County. Now they have new test beds in the following areas: FCC licenses issued to Chaos Industries. Please see the attached documents. WY9XPE - (222-225 MHz) Camp Atterbury, Indiana WY9XYL - (222-225 MHz) MCAS Yuma, Arizona WY9XYM - (222-225) MHz) Irwin National training Center, California WY9XWP - (228-233) MHz Desert Center, Riverside, California Apparently, these are in addition to their existing licenses, These licenses are footnoted that they must cease immediately if they cause interference to Amateur Radio operations. The FCC continues to authorize non amateur radio operations in amateur radio spectrum. If operations are of a temporary, proof-of-concept nature only and in low population areas, perhaps we could just wait. The problem it brings is precedence, which is how many mechanisms of law work. The precedent set giving way to a case being made that they have greater need for the spectrum than we, and an opportunity for the FCC to auction or otherwise reallocate the band. The problem we have, how do we 'defend' against this in these sparse population areas where 220 amateur activity is very low? We can mobilize folks as we have in our local area, but there's a whole interior of the nation where overall use is light. Especially for an off-beaten-path band like 220. This is a strategic threat requiring a strategic response. Remember, these transmitters may not be near you, however if a repeater input can see the transmitter its ability to receive a weak signal is degraded. I urge ALL repeater owners to look at these locations, if in anyway you know repeater owners who may be impacted make them aware of this threat. Today its the 220 MHz spectrum, tomorrow its 1.2GHz, 420-450MHz spectrum or even 144-148MHz, don't think companies like Choas are not thinking of that? Remember, its not a Right, its a Privilege that we can use the spectrum we do and we will have to fight to keep it. Thank you, John N. Hi, me again! Lol. Does anyone have a power strip that is 19 inch rackmount with about 8 to 10 outlets which is AC with surge protector? I have one but it came with the rack that I bought in the switch got destroyed so looking to get one to replace it. Don't know what happened to the switch, but it wouldn't even move. Thought there was a cover over the switch is what someone told me, but I got the piece out and ended up being the switch with wires coming out of the back. Weird one for the experts... I have a TKR-820 that has been running for YEARS. And before I got it, it was running for years!!! After about of month of running (summer/winter no difference), it kicks off. When I reset the power switch, it flashes red briefly and goes out. If I leave it off overnight, I can come back in the morning, turn it on and work for another month... Really???? How does one trouble shoot this???

I was recently given a pair of GP300 HTs and am trying to get them reprogrammed for some new hams in the area. I have the programmer and RSS and can download the codeplug. But, these are 398-443 MHz RX radios (P94YPC20C1) and won't allow me to put the Amateur repeater frequencies in. I've tried the Shift key trick when entering frequencies to no avail (have used this successfully on Radius and GM300 models). Even tried using a Hex editor and directions I found here to alter the ID bit associated with the model. Neither works. Any thoughts on what to try next? ron

Hello members, I have an old R2660A (IDEN option) that I replaced all the 33uf electrolytics caps on Interface board ( each one had leaked). Luckily no major damage that didn't clean up. This fixed the alarming of the "excessive power to internal load alarm". I also replaced the memory battery as well. It goes through all calibrations successfully. Everything seams to be working ok except I'm seeing all kinds of internal signals in spectrum analyzer mode (no antenna connected). It does receive signals normally when connected to an antenna. Does anyone know what might be causing this? More bad electrolytics on another board....or? I pull the spectrum card and receiver card and check the electrolytics on those and they were fine. It what quite a job replacing all those things too i must say... Thanks in advance Randy

What is the value on the used market for a Motorola SLR5700 repeater removed from a working trunk system in excellent condition? Only reason for change is system does not meet the needs of the user and a system to meet their needs is being installed. Hoping to recover some of their investment. Thank you Roger
