Andrew 7/8" Hardline Connector Needed

开云体育

I have a length of the older SOLID CENTER CONDUCTOR 7/8” hardline and need one connector. I am not particular about the gender but an “N” female would be most useful. If one is available please contact me off list with your price including shipping to 34221. I would like to have this mid week next week if possible. If you do not HAVE a connector but know what MODEL NUMBER this type is, it might also be helpful. The cable is NOT the very old SPIRAL type but is the concentric circle type solid center. Thanks in advance.

7/8 inch with solid center conductor is likely Celwave cable, not Andrew....I never have seen Andrew with solid center.....I guess its possible but the Celwave stuff Ive?used is solid and looks like Andrew on the outside...I have one connector here at the house if? you are interested...

All of the 7/8” Prodelin I’ve seen from that era had an aluminum shield.? Not made by, or the same as, Cablewave.? Cablewave first made FLC78 using a solid center and then later changed to a hollow center but kept the same part number.? I probably have connectors, will look later.

I interpreted your description a tad incorrect lol. Since Andrew never had a solid center in 7/8. I previously had a fella say he had 7/8 with a solder center but he didn’t know.

Hi

The 7/8” cable you have is probably Phelps Dodge with solid center and spiral outside. No soldering required.

We have a few used (cut off) connectors laying around, which I would offer FREE if you send me a UPS shipping address. (No PO Box)

Just to make sure we/you/all are on the same page, Mike’s cable is not helical (spiral) corrugation so it wouldn’t be Phelps-Dodge (FXCC series).

Just to make sure we/you/all are on the same page, Mike’s cable is not helical (spiral) corrugation so it wouldn’t be Phelps-Dodge (FXCC series).

Hi

The 7/8” cable you have is probably Phelps Dodge with solid center and spiral outside. No soldering required.

We have a few used (cut off) connectors laying around, which I would offer FREE if you send me a UPS shipping address. (No PO Box)

Prodelin, Cablewave, and Phelps-Dodge all made 7/8” with a solid center (copper-clad aluminum, akin to ?”).?? Pics and details to follow…

I interpreted your description a tad incorrect lol. Since Andrew never had a solid center in 7/8. I previously had a fella say he had 7/8 with a solder center but he didn’t know.

Nope…that center pin screws into the center conductor. The type I need would SOLDER onto the center from what I see. But, thanks.? - Mike

Mike/Jeff

OK. So the cable you want to put a connector on is ANULAR, as opposed to SPIRAL, is that correct?

If so, I will change the 7/8” NF cutoff connector I was planning to send.

BTW The Spiral type connectors are really old, back to the 70’s.

The annular connectors for the solid center, slip on, will work with both Celewave and Andrew old type cable.

I never used Prodelin, so don’t know if they will work on that cable.

Jeff, You are correct and I did not note that in Charle’s offer/comments. It is not a spiral type cable.

BTW Jeff..I’d still like to have some direct communication with you if at all possible. My email is good on QRZ if you care to check. TNX – Mike, K4CVL
