Re: Why use a purpose built repeater box as a repeater rather than a transmitter, receiver, and controller tied (lashed) together?
I eagerly await an actual technical conversation. How does a GTR8000 outperform other repeaters? Something more than ¡°better components.¡± Do you have spectrum analyzer plots you can share showing

Re: Help identifying external interference source to our repeater
Whatever it is, you will be surprised. You need to do a little more, especially in the DF area. The good news, compared to a human jammer, is that is is there all the time. Can you hear it on a

Help identifying external interference source to our repeater
Hello all. I'm hoping someone can help me track down a new source of noise we're hearing on the input to our local 2m repeater at 147.990MHz. Here's a couple short videos of what it sounds like while

As a Kenwood Dealer, we sell quite a few of the NXR series for Amateur use (as well as commercial of course). They work excellently in the Amateur service, are pretty much bullet proof and will

Re: Why use a purpose built repeater box as a repeater rather than a transmitter, receiver, and controller tied (lashed) together?
Desense is not a logarithmic function of how well your equipment is setup where incremental improvements in the setup will cause incremental improvements of less desense. It is either there or not,

Re: Why use a purpose built repeater box as a repeater rather than a transmitter, receiver, and controller tied (lashed) together?
Desense and site noise floor are 2 different things: desense being a decrease in receiver performance whenever nearby transmitters are enabled. If you've get desense, that can frequently be fixed;

Re: Why use a purpose built repeater box as a repeater rather than a transmitter, receiver, and controller tied (lashed) together?
I completely agree Kevin: If the environmental noise is below the noise floor of the receiver ( still possible at clean repeater sites or backyard repeaters) and enough isolation is provided between

Re: Motorola service monitor R2001D
If you try using one of the green coated ones (type 251) in a D series it will jam in. It will in all likely hood scrape off enough of the green coating to expose the end metal end cap connection

The Littelfuse 275.062 or 0275.062 are 1/16a and have the clear tubing over them. In a pinch you could use 1/8a (275.125 or 0275.125) but the lower the current, the less damage you'll do to your
