Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
Not a problem with 100w into the cable and only 30w dissipated over 18ft of RG-142, and the connectors would be usually be heatsinked to a chassis of some sort anyway. Belden RG-142 is rated up to

Re: UHF Repeater Input Frequency Issues
Unlike the CATV world, where splitters are common and a splitter can have a variety of different drop/tap levels, splitters are not as frequently used, and when they are, the are usually referred to

That loss is dissipated as heat. You may have issues if the connectors are soldered on. Glenn WB4UIV -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Glenn Little

Re: Capacitors in DB4332B and DB4333B
Mike: Thank you for your emails. I agree it would be great if the capacitors at 850 Mhz were adjusted to something less than half of their range, I could just install the same size coils as in the

Re: Capacitors in DB4332B and DB4333B
Once you know current and needed capacitance you could probably pad the originals with a fixed value silver mica.

Re: Capacitors in DB4332B and DB4333B
For a similar performing filter the inductance and capacitance would be about double if you cut the frequency in half. Question is, will the original capacitors adjust to about double the capacitance

Capacitors in DB4332B and DB4333B
I am trying to determine the values of variable capacitors in DB Products Low Pass Filters to see if I can convert an 800 Mhz LPF that I bought in a flea market to a 450 Mhz LPF by just changing the

Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
Sounds like a plan. I have a few other repeaters around that are GMRS or back ups. But if you want to continue this thread, you can email me on my QRZ email, WI9HF. Don't want to tie up the list. Chad

Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
I fully agree, you would basically just be changing out labels with the name on it. I am just keeping an eye out for a good deal for a spare for our system. I do not want to buy another brand new

Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
Yeah, I figured the TPLM would work good for my purposes here so I'm gonna hang onto that, but there really isn't any need to sell one to buy another one that's almost kind of silly. Chad Nelson

Re: F/S TPL PA6-1AE UHF amp
Hi, I will hang onto that TPL amp at this point. I was trying to find another amp, but I am trading apples for apples at this point. Will take advice and keep the TPL. Thanks for your interest.

Re: UHF Repeater Input Frequency Issues
The only problem not terminating a divider is causing some amplitude ripple in the passband. It wont hurt the associated amplifier. If the preamp was working it could improve the system noise figure
