Re: Backup Battery for SLE 5700
Generically... Victron supply/charge controller -> LiFePo (of adequate capacity) -> Low-voltage disconnect -> system 12v power bus LiTime or WattCycle batteries - reasonable cost

Re: Motorola Quantar 5MHz Reference Ultra High Stability Oscillator CLN1477A
Got one cheaper on Ebay, $30. It has been on one of my 900 Quantars for five years, have never had to touch it and my garage will fo from 10?F to 120?F (north Texas) GeorgeC W2DB

Re: Motorola Quantar 5MHz Reference Ultra High Stability Oscillator CLN1477A
I own a couple of VHF Quantars and no the high stability option is just not worth it...analog UHF, optional .. UHF P25, it does help...900 it's mandatory!! The Quantars refused to sync up without

Backup Battery for SLE 5700
Hi, I'm looking to see if anyone here has a preferred or a "go-to" type of battery that you use for your repeaters. I'm installing an SLR 5700 in a temperature-controlled room. How long do I need the

Hello, Can this repeater reach close to 368 Mhz?

Re: Motorola Quantar 5MHz Reference Ultra High Stability Oscillator CLN1477A
Another way to look at it, most of the time your repeater will be much closer to being on frequency than most of your user radios. There will be enough tolerance that no one will know the

Re: Motorola Quantar 5MHz Reference Ultra High Stability Oscillator CLN1477A
A Quantar high stability oscillator would allow a VHF repeater to go for a very long time without having to adjust back on frequency. The stock osc in a VHF Quantar is pretty good and should go maybe

Re: Internet provision at a remote repeater site?
Sending IDs, courtesy times, etc. down all-star is big no no..... The uplink would also have to be legally IDed in the US under part 97 rules Chris WB5ITT (TARRA) via groups.io

Re: Internet provision at a remote repeater site?
And hang times... So you set up the repeater to transmit PL only during active receive. The COR drops, the tone stops, and the CT, ID and hang time are now invisible to the Allstar

Re: Motorola Quantar 5MHz Reference Ultra High Stability Oscillator CLN1477A
A few more questions on this topic. 1. Understanding the High Stability Oscillator module is used mostly (or perhaps exclusively - not sure) with the 900 MHz Quantars.? Are they of any benefit on

Re: Internet provision at a remote repeater site?
Not quite so simple. You need to get rid of the repeater IDs and any courtesy tones. Mick - W7CAT

Attached is a document I put together many years ago, which outlines how I successfully replaced R100 EEproms, back in the day. I built a EProm programmer called "Pony Prog", I found described on the

Re: Are Quantar Modules Plug n Play?
Oops I got it backwards, going from R2 to R1 will be easy, no complaints when entering 2m frequencies and no VCO problems.

Re: Are Quantar Modules Plug n Play?
Yes but you need to read the station with CPS, change the receive to band 2 then probably write in the frequencies as they will be erased when changing bands. It will complain if you are entering 2m

Re: Internet provision at a remote repeater site?
If AllStar is all you want to accomplish, you could just set up an AllStar node and set it to TX on your repeater's receive frequency and RX on your repeater's transmit frequency, just like how you

Are Quantar Modules Plug n Play?
Friends, I have a Quantar that has VHF R2 modules.? I would like to try a VHF R1 Module in it.? Seems unlikely, but is it as simple as powering down and swapping the modules? Thanks! Jeff KC8VFN
