Re: Ctcss Board

One wire, ground, should be easy to figure out. Your +V should also be easy to trace. The output should be coming from the pot through a electrolytic capacitor... I don't think there's a line you need to ground to turn the encoder on but there may be. Just tie it to ground..
.. hooking it up to a modern synthesized radio, I would use switched voltage to feed to the +V... That way the only time the tone is being outputed is when the transmitter's keyed. It could cause issues if the tone is modulating the phase lock loop during receive.. Ask me how I know ??

Good luck with it

Tait TB-9300 Repeaters for sale

Good afternoon,

I have a couple of the Tait TB-9300 VHF repeaters for sale - currently they are set for Tier 3 DMR Trunking.? These are complete units - reciter, 100w PA, and 48vdc to 24vdc power supply.

These are dated May 2013 and working when removed from service.? The reciter says 148-174 MHz and the PA 136-174 MHz.? I have programmed ham frequencies down to 145.270 TX / 144.670 RX and the VCO stayed locked on the reciter unit.

Does anyone have an interest in these either as a complete unit or as spare parts?? I'm willing to part them out if someone needs parts.? Module / parts would include the PA, Receiter, power supply and chassis.??

Contact me off list with offers or for pictures.??

Re: running autopatch

I have been using Ooma Teleo for my landline for some time. You buy their ATA device and pay about $7 a month for taxes. It works well for outgoing DTMF. There may be some problems with incoming DTMF. You might want to test it out.

I suppose I could use Magic Jack, but would I need a router to connect to the Cellular network then hardwire into the controller?

  • Magic Jack is a VOIP ATA that uses a PC for the processing...the MJ is an external dongle
  • that provides the analog output to a RJ11...it is not a standalone ATA iirc..one local radio
  • station used it for remote control dial up to a Burk...worked 50% of the time?

?

Yeah, that’s what my experience was like when MJ first came out.? It was free, so my expectations were pretty low going in.? Nowadays, for $1 a month for a number and less than half a cent per minute, get a SIP trunk.? Perfectly serviceable ATA’s (Linksys, Obihai, et al) are around $20 on eBay.

GPIO & DMK URI

I'm looking for some help with getting a GPIO command setup for a repeater disable function. We have had a little bit of interference from so people and want to be able to turn the repeater off for a few to try and get them to stop. I'm running a Pi 3B+ with a DMK URI with ASL3, has anyone here done this before?
Thanks,

Kenwood TK 8360 question

Hi all, I have several Kenwood TK8302 mobile radios That need to be realigned every couple of megahertz to work in the 440 ham band which is kind of annoying. Going to use those radios for links on my repeater system. My real question here today is I'm looking at a Kenwood TK8360 UHF radio that says it covers 450 to 520. Is this radio going to cover the 440-2470 amateur band entirely without having to realign the VCO all the time? I have that TK8180 which covers the entire UHF amateur radio band with no problem at all, just looking for another radio that would do the same thing. Looking for commercial radios.

Jeff, I assume you at least one of these connectors. What the cost shipped to FLA 34221? I have another length of 7/8” I am going to check to see if it has or needs connectors though I am not sure it is the same brand of cable. If so, I made need other connectors. - Mike
