The USB-RIM is set to use an active high signal for both COS and CTCSS. I have the PL line set in the wildcard however I just noticed that there isnt a output for pin C2 in the output group settings. There is an output for pin C4. Other thing the wildcard checkbox is greyed out on the system configuration screen. Thanks --Don On 3/11/25 04:37, Chris Boone WB5ITT via groups.io wrote:

Seeking Cans / The Rally Repeater Build
Greetings all, I have enjoyed reviewing numerous posts on this group over the past several?months,?especially as I plan and have started a build of a 25W iCOM ID-2010V based mobile repeater on VHF. I'm writing to ask for pointers on finding a duplexer to purchase.? I already own the iCOM repeater controller.?? My application is primarily?for portable use, supporting both Olympus rally and Oregon Trail Rally in WA and OR respectively.? Recognizing the challenges of a VHF portable, I have a trailer in hand with an onboard power system, mast, antenna, and enough space to mount and travel with a full sized 4 or 6 cavity system. Requirements: 25W and .6MHz frequency pair spacing. Please go easy on me as I am ~4 year HAM and this is the first repeater I have worked on from scratch.? I've spent some time with local clubs at repeater sites and have worked in partnership on a DIY dispersed 2 site repeater using 2X TYT 9800s in VHF config with UHF crossband interlink before.?? Any help?would be greatly appreciated, specifically sourcing?a duplexer best suited for portable, and advice on mounting it for vibration mitigation.? Perfectly happy to purchase and adopt used equipment in good shape.? I also welcome advice on what models or types to shy away from. Lastly, if you are in WA / OR and interested in volunteering for Rally Communications support, please have a look at my QRZ. 73 all, Devin H. Devin Hamilton N7IQZ |

Re: DB4060 Tuning Advice
开云体育The replacement piston trimmer cap is a Johanson 5602 1-30 pF 250V. I’ve seen a number of DB4060/4062 cavity sets with a blown trimmer cap. FWIW not an easy cap to source.? If you look at the specs of the DB4060 4 cavity duplexer, each leg of two series cavities offers 80 dB isolation with 1.5 dB insertion loss. ?If you measure one side of the duplexer that is what you would expect to see. ? 25 watts. ? TKR-850 is 50 watts intermittent, 25 watts continuous duty. ? TKR-851 is 25 watts continuous, period. ? Firmware-wise and feature-wise, TKR-851 is the equivalent of a “V2.0” TKR-850.? That is, there is no such thing as a non-V2 TKR-851.? Note that there is no “V1”; TKR-x50’s have either no version number, or they are “Ver 2.0”.? Additionally, the hyphenated number after the model number (e.g. TKR-750 -1) does not mean version 1; the hyphenated suffix is the bandsplit. ? 痴2’蝉 have a number of advantages over non-痴2’蝉, not all of which are important if you’re using an external control, but are generally more important if you’re not using an external controller. ? ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? --- Jeff WN3A |

Re: fs: AnritsuSitemaster S331l
Yes, they are selling for more than I'm asking on ebay plus shipping. I have to pay for my quantar I just bought from sunny communications or the anritsu andnmy other gear wouldn't be up for sale. I also have other stuff for sale not listed here as it's broadcast related and has nothing to do with lmr or repeaters. I will also have a Kenwood 851 coming for sale? when it gets replaced with the quantar as well as a micromagic 150W reject only duplexer. If i can sell this other equipment and make back what im out of pocket for these upgrades then the Kenwood will be donated to the local ham club for a mobile command / site repeater. The local ham guy in charge of ares wants to incorporate gmrs into ares and the local EM plan. I'm trying to make that main repeater the best it can be and spared no expense. I'm on a fixed income and the fmrs repeater trustee and it's not under a 501c so I can't accept tax free donations I'm doing this entirely on my own and out of my own pocket and how I do that is buying and selling to support the repeater stuff. Re: DB4060 Tuning Advice
开云体育Jerry,
I'm willing to help you quantify what you have and get your duplexer tuned correctly.? I can do that here - or in private emails.? Your choice. To answer your immediate questions - the insertion loss you should be experiencing per cavity is 0.5dB or slightly less and the resulting notch depth should be 37 dB.? Then - when fully cabled, the total insertion loss per leg should be less than 1.5dB per leg (1.0dB typical) and around -83 / -85 dB notch depths.? The reason the notch depth is greater than the simple sum of the two cavities is there's an additional 5.5dB (or so) of additional notch depth per cavity interconnect cable.? I don't have a copy of my VNA graphs for this duplexer - but Jeff uploaded a set of graphs in post #197414 (of this group) for one he rebuilt and converted from "C" to "B" some years ago. If you're only having problems with one cavity, the issue you are experiencing with reduced notch depth may be caused by corrosion or something between the flange on the connector / loop box and the top of the cavity.? I had one of these in the shop that I also thought had a bad adjustable capacitor because I couldn't get the notch to tune correctly with the same number of turns as the other cavity.? I found the factory didn't mask the top of the cavity correctly and it ended up being painted over some of the distance of the mating surface where the boxes flange and the top of the cavity contact each other.? I have photos of what I did to correct the problem and after the surfaces were burnished, the cavity worked as it should - the capacitor was not bad.? I decided to do all four cavities and the duplexer easily made specification after the work. These duplexers are known for poor silver plating, where the plating "sheds" off.? To fix this requires a lot of work to disassemble and re-plate with silver.? I'll get the photos together and put on a web page - and post them here...? In the mean time - go to the page on RB and look at all of the information concerning the DB4060 and DB4062 duplexer and read it.? The spec sheet and the info on can be viewed to see which coupling loop assemblies you need for the 2M ham band.? There is also information in the archives of this group by Jeff WN3A that will help you. Kevin W3KKC On 3/10/2025 9:45 PM, Gerald Lucha via groups.io wrote:

Re: New to me Motorola R-2001b
I am not an expert on servicing the R2001B which is an almost entirely different animal than the D version which was the last to be released. But the main point is that only the D version did fix many well known issues that where prevalent in the earlier A-C versions, including the elimination of the somewhat flimsy front swing handle. Another issue with these monitors is that the early ones had Magnavox CRTs that tended to get weak and fail way too soon. For the D series Motorola started using imported AEG and Telefunken CRTs that performed much better over time, but given the age of these instruments now, one should always check that the CRT is still good no matter what version. And once the CRT goes bad there is no easy alternative but to find a replacement ("unobtanium"), try using a CRT restorer to restore some of the life in the CRT, or jury rig an external XY monitor. Without a working display the R2001 is basically useless.
So my only advise in this case would be to start checking all power supply voltages BEFORE doing anything else like swapping caps etc. And for anyone else out there looking to get one of these R2001 service monitors to ideally always shoot for a R2001D, and even better if its a HS variant (high stability main oscillator). There are many variants of the R2001D with slightly different model numbers depending on options like cellular, encryption, trunking, etc, but the desirable radio testing base capabilities are always present on all of them. One of my service monitors is a R2008D-HS, which basically is a R2001D with an added card for analog cellular testing. When I got it it had a few problems like a flaky tuning encoder ("RF Scan") and the PL/DPL tone generation was not working. Was lucky enough that seller had lots of spares on hand and send me a replacement board to fix the tone issue (was a bad crystal), and also a working rotary encoder. |
