Chad,

the LVP2 is actually a cellphone with an RJ-11 jack for analog phones.?? ? It's designed to be powered on 7/24

Only downside is if your repeater controller is expecting an open loop or CPC when the far end hangs up (CPC)?? - this boxes does not generate CPC or an open loop.??

Buy a used one from eBAY and a pre-paid SIM to test it.

Re: Sinclair Q2220E Rod replacement

Thanks for all the advice.? I was able to extend the rods using stainless with mixed results:
?
-on "duplexer A" I can only get about 30db of isolation per cavity, which from what I'm reading is not as good as it could be.? Any suggestions?
-on "duplexer B" I can only get 20db on the high side, and on the low side I run out of tuning on notch before it reaches the low point. It bottoms out.? Again, any suggestions? I read somewhere about rotating the capacitor but this is all new to me so I haven't tried that yet. Are they frequency specific (ie a range)?
?
Both duplexers are the same model, but there were differences in the bottom ends of the rods so they're not identical internally.?
?
Thanks again for all the info!

You should consider doing a write-up of how exactly you do the modifications to gain access to the discriminator and modulator.? A good article would show the bandwidth available, how flat the audio is over X frequency and whether or not any processing is left in place.

For transmitter you can feed directly into the modulator if you wanted. On all my 9000’s vhf and uhf I have out at sites I run them all on high power with a fan on top. 4+ years going strong. I do understand crystals are getting harder to find. Bomar is $50 each 2 order minimum.

Re: Antenna for UHF made in Ukraine-Additional

www.jefatech.com
I know we’re drifting off topic here, but not long ago I needed 1500’ of 1/2" in a hurry and none of my usual go-to’s could get it to me. I ended up ordering ?” from TXM () for about 25% less per-foot than what I would have paid for Commscope LDF4 or RFS LCF12. They shipped out of North Carolina and I had it in New Jersey in two days, plus shipping was free so I saved a few hundred bucks more there too. Quality seemed OK. I used RFS connectors and they fit fine.

Just an FYI that there are *some* off-brand cable manufacturers that make decent stuff...but certainly not all of them.

I think I've used a reel or two of JEFA at some point in time but don't recall exactly. I know I used a few thousand feet of Shireen LMR400-equivalent (NOT ON A REPEATER!) and it was OK.

Cdm/gm300 repeater cables

开云体育

Hey everybody.. ran into something interesting and was wondering if anybody had any insight on this. So when you look at the picture that I've attached here you can see those cheap little $12 repeater cables you get off of eBay.. I've used them on GM 300S for years and they work perfectly fine. Yesterday I programmed up some CDM 1250 radios and they don't work with these cables. Now what's interesting is I can take my idiomatic controller that works on my gm300s perfectly fine and I used it on the cdms and it also worked perfectly fine. So for whatever reason these little cables will work for the GM 300's but not the CDM radios. Anybody have any thoughts or a workaround on this??

As for M57774 bricks I have 2 or three at the house...I may pull a couple of 13509s apart and build it like N5DNG, SK, did ..inverted aluminum chassis which held the TX and RX in Bud AL boxes and had feed thru caps for all wiring IO...it did have two RS blue plug in proto boards behind the RX box we put COS, etc on one and the audio gating, etc on another..the vertical pots held the boards apart ..at the bottom was a CW diode matrix board (K2 ??? can't remember the call) and the back of the chassis had all audio and signaling brought out to phono plugs all numbered and the numbers matched labeling on the cover that screwed down to enclose it all...

wish we would have done it commercially for sale...the Midland meter, volume and squelch plus spkr and mic jack were on the front..a toggle switch allowed S meter or TX power out reading...only two or 3 RU tall...of course now I could eliminate the internal controller, etc and hook it to an external one for more versatility..wish I still had it or a photo of it...looked and worked better than the VHF Engineering 220 that I bought from another group..the rcvr had been upgraded to a Spectrum SCR100...never did like the squelch circuit in that model...the SCR200 was a big improvement...and I have one or two of them lying around?
