Manual Request
Jeff Weinberg W8CQ
Hello Listmembers,
I am in need for a set of manuals for a GE MASTR II UHF mobile unit. Can anyone supply me with the GE part numbers so I can order a set of manuals. Also, if someone would be willing to get me a copy or let me copy one at Dayton, I would be willing to pay all associated costs. Thanks in advance, Jeff Weinberg W8CQ w8cq@... |

6M repeater radios for sale
rwf
I have a duplexed Motorola Mitrek 6 M repeater for sale. I think it is
about a 75 watt unit, but may be more. It is already packed so I can't look at it to tell. It is already on frequency: 53.09/52.09, has squelch control and plug ready to play with a Link Comm Controller. This radio is $125.00 I also have a 100 watt Duplexed GE MASTR II repeater-mobile for sale. It is also on 53.09/52.09. It will do better than 130 watts into a dummy load, but I always ran it at about 60-70 watts. I believe it still has the Link Comm plug on it as well. If you have or make a duplexer, you can use it as a single site machine $1100.00 To go with this, I have another Mastr II with a low split/low band receiver with *Noise Blanker* (Ask Chris if you want to know what to do with this). I believe the TX in the unit is VHF. I want $60.00 for this unit. Teamed with the other unit, this makes up the 6 M part of a split system with a really hot receiver. The Mitrek will be at Dayton, and I will bring the MASTR IIs if there is interest. You can Email me here until Wednesday night. After that I'll be busy at Dayton but you can send me a short Email to my wireless Email at 7647836@.... I will try to reply right back. By phone you can reach me at 404-915-8730. At Dayton, you might try 442.800 + PL 103.5 I may also have some GE 10 meter gear available too. Ask me. Ralph N4NEQ |

The site (my home) sucks but the repeater never missed a beat. I highly recommend them. The warranty is three years, easy to interface to controllers and is fully programmable and comes with encode/decode of pl tones. Someone asked me for a diagram of the hookup, whoever it was please let me know. I have been having trouble with a new arrival in our home (child #2) she is very sick so I havent had time to map it out. I will do so soon so please drop me a line.. Tnx Richy |

Re: M2 current draw
John T. Berry
Our MII draws around 200 mA. I don't know if that is typical or not.

Thanks for the help. I forgot to mention that I do not already have a Ge
radio. I am looking to upgrade from a VHF Engineering machine before going to a mountain top. Does anyone have any suggestions. I need good temperature stability and low current draw. I wanted to use a converted GE or Motorola, but I didn't want to got through the trouble to convert a UHF micor so I decided on the GE. I guess a Mitrek would also fit my needs. Could a pair of micors be used while still keeping low current draw? If the Ge or Motorola wont work any suggestions of something else. 443.675/448.675 Goodview, VA k4yd jimmy |

Hi there. As for as the current draw on idle with the MasterII. You can drastically reduce the standby current draw by disabling the audio amplifier circuitry on terminal strip P904. Simply remove the 10v source to this circuit. You may add a volume control with a switch or leave it disabled all together. You current draw then will be way less than 100 ma. I don't remember exactly, but around 50 to 60 ma. Good luck on your project. 73's de N5KWN, Tom in Conroe, Texas. |

not the best rx for this use.... kiss a good .2 amp and add another .1 amp for the transmitter multiplier chain... yes it takes current in rx mode... we had a guy completely rebuild one with a sleep method to get it down under 50 mills.... but it was a major tech project using all winter. 73 carl w7exh |
