Re: What makes a digital voice capable repeater dv capable?
Skyler, Simply: The FM transmitter and receiver have to pass data at 9600 bits per second. And, stay within the channel bandwidth limits. This is for the Digital modes DMR, P25, D-Star and

Re: What makes a digital voice capable repeater dv capable?
Something I haven¡¯t seen mentioned in the thread below so far: a proper digital repeater will apply error correction to the received signal before retransmitting it as a clean digital

Re: What makes a digital voice capable repeater dv capable?
One other requirement comes to mind in that the receiver IF response curve is different for digital , in that the top of the curve needs to be flat, with rounded corners, not bullet shaped as in the

Re: What makes a digital voice capable repeater dv capable?
Hi Skyler, You are correct on the disc > FM audio. And correct about no filtering. I am suspicious on requirement of the frequency tolerance to be +/- 150 hz. That may be more for the potential

Re: Motorola GM600 for D-star repeater #mmdvm
I don't know anything about the GM600 but I would say try it and it may very well work. I am using a pair of M1225 and they work just fine. Your bigger challenge will be getting the levels set

Re: What makes a digital voice capable repeater dv capable?
Skyler, On your last point while this is an issue for subscribers on DMR the repeaters do not rapidly key/unkey. They transmit full-time whenever there is valid activity (local or remote) on either

Re: What makes a digital voice capable repeater dv capable?
Well first, you need flat audio. Directly or as closely tied to the discriminator and modulator as possible. Filtering will prevent digital signals from making it through. Correct me if I¡¯m wrong

Re: What makes a digital voice capable repeater dv capable?
Well, you can, and if the repeater audio is good enough (like simplex is) it actually works (Fusion does on my system, even through the remote base). But that will probably make the repeater owner

There¡¯s at least one nationwide network of 900 repeaters on Allstar. Easily 75 nodes. Mine is one of them. GeorgeC W2DB

Re: What makes a digital voice capable repeater dv capable?
No one can normally not just transmit digital voice thru a FM analog repeater. For DSTAR the receiver side of making an analog repeater work is easy, just take the digital signal off the recvr

I would, but I'm a "freeloader" at the tower.? I'm allowed space there because I'm the local "caretaker" - I check in on the place from time to time and let workers in when needed. There is internet

Curious as to why you're selling?? Is it because you don't have any users? That seems to be the biggest issue with mine - I have *very* few users.? Fortunately, the site I'm at is very accommodating
