Hello All,
Thanks for the replies to my last request for info on the Motorola cavities. I have found another set that I need to find info on. I have searched the internet but have not come up with much. These are a set of Sinclair ResLock duplexers model Q3220E. They are described as 4 cavities built into one physical "rectangle". Present owner used them on a 440.600 repeater and are supposed to be good to 300 watts. Does anyone have any info on these units? Anyone with experience with these? DB Products
I think the response you get from DB is very erratic when the subject is amateur antennas. It depends entirely on who you talk to. I was transferred to a woman named Nicole who claimed to be an engineer. She insisted the technical information I wanted was on their website. I explained that it wasn't & repeated my question. She said she would email the info. She sent me the same file that was on the website. Forget Nicole. Other times, they have been helpful.

KB5ZVK here to tell you that I'm using a DB420 set at 451.000 mhz. 35 watt transmitter on a 175' tower at a ground level of 185' with 1 5/8 hardline and I get a range 40 miles to a mobile on medium power and still abile to use the autopatch on a cat1000 controler. I called DB Products about the antenna. and they told me that I could get a new phasing harnes tuned to amateur band But the price scared me away so I'm still using the this antenna tuned for 451.000 mhz. the Ham Bands. To me they are just as good as DB, but last time I've checked they are less expensive then DB. I have a new SRL-224 new in the box. It is for two meters, if any one is interested. I believe you are correct. I have operated one or more remote base transmitters for over 20 years. Some individuals want to overly complicate things. Reminds me of the time someone complained that I made an autopatch on one of my repeaters and did not identify the third party traffic. I could not convince the Extra class license holder that there were only two parties involved. There was my wife on the phone and I was on the radio going through the repeater for which I was the trustee. Could not convince him that there were only two parties when I made a phone call and three only when using a system with the call of another on it. We are, in my little HAM-community in Gyor, Hungary, Thinking to start repeaters. We have surplus radios, aerials, but the big Enemy is the duplexer (cavity filter). We need homebrewer's technical docs how to build a good cavity filter for 10, 6, 2 m and 70 cm bands. Can anybody help with some technical literature on any other ideas? I have a low band Mitrek radio, which is being used for our 10mtr repeater. I have got so far with it, but have come across a couple of problems which I need some help. On the 19 pin socket 1 pin has discriminator audio on it, and 2 pins have speaker audio. Can someone please supply me with the pins. Also I know that you can not ground either side of the speaker, doing so will kill the audio amp, not a problem. Can I use a standard 8ohm speaker? Thanks in advance. Regards Kevin, ZL1UDD. |

Here's a general run-down of all the voltages and what they go to: High Current Output: 13.1 to 16.3 VDC, with 36 amp load, and 2 amp load respectively Voltage is regulated *normally* only by the ferroresonat action in the secondary winding. Of course there are the large caps and L601 (the large 420uH choke) for filtering/voltage support - but no adjustments. This feeds power only to the PA. Distribution Board (TPN6138): Provides over current (fuses) and overvoltage protection (18V) through a load resistor, as discussed previously. Aux Reg board (TRN5119A): Supplies 9.4 and 13.9 VDC, regulated, and are both adjustable. The 9.4VDC is rated for 1.1 amps, with a current limit of 2.3 amp (foldback protected). The 13.9VDC section is rated for 1.16 amps, with a current limit of 2.3 amps (also foldback protected). Ratings are at 25`C. The 9.4 and 13.9 VDC voltages supply power to the receiver(s), exciter, and control modules. (not the PA) TP101 should read 9.4 v, and TP111 should read 13.9 v, under standby and TX conditions. If you have aprox 15.0VDC to the PA with a 20 amp load, your power supply is in good shape! BTW are you converting a base to a repeater?
