Re: CAT1000 comms
Oh, so like a VOIP or something? Yeah, putting modem tones over a VOIP line doesn't work.
Doesn't the CAT-1000 have a regular RS-232 port as well? There should be a way to interface that instead.

Re: Trunking
Sorry, but that is not a correct interpretation. These are frequencies setup and known in advance. Therefore, the user knows.
And really, the only requirement a ham has for frequency is to know that

Re: Trunking
Only the repeater trustee is responsible. The users would be responsible to know that they can't program an out-of-band frequency in their radios, just like they always would.
Can't happen. These

Yep, that's why I backed out of it. Rules are guidelines and are frequently outdated by the time they are published. You also shouldn't have to take every sentence at face value. Rules are written to

Re: Cross band MTR-2000?
I don't believe the MTR2000 SCM (System Control Module) will allow for
that - it would probably error out.? Once you set the band in the SCM,
it expects to see both TX and RX frequencies within the

Re: Trunking
Toms assertion that the user is the control operator of a repeater is incorrect. A lot of folks simply have never read the rules and fcc opinions concerned repeater operation.

Re: CAT1000 comms
I think the simplest test would be to take your computer/300 modem to a place where there is a wired landline and see if it still fails.

Isn't the same true of EVERY repeater?
That said, the control op is not responsible for "ensuring"
the ID of the user radios - only the repeater(s).
If you are using a repeater, YOU are responsible

Does the control operator know when the radio is transmitting or what frequency is used every time it

The time lag of the OOMA may be the cause of your problem; I have also seen this issue with the various VOIP services. If you don't actually have a real landline for comparison, you may never get to

Re: Cross band MTR-2000?
I doubt you can do that with an MTR 2000 but you can with a Quantar - in
fact a Quantar can have 2 receivers of 2 different bands at the same time.
