Have you tried using a single folded dipole (half of a
DB212-2), it has an almost omni-pattern, and doesn't need
any kind of harness or matching network, connect your RG-8
directly to it, just make sure it is mounted to a metallic
pole or tower leg that is at least as long as the dipole.
I used some old highway patrol DB212 dipoles that were
originally on 45.06mhz and shortened them, and used a MFJ259
to tune them individually.
Because of the lack of one, we haven't tried it. I'm
going over to his place with a 6 pack of 807's tomorrow
and hopefully we'll find one.
