Could anyone recommend a good vertical to use on a 6 meter
repeater?
So far, I've tried:
- Db-201 ground plane. Not bad performance, but a real hassle
getting the SWR down on a crowded site.
- A home brew "J-pole". Absolutely horrible performance! SWR
was great, but I guess it's one of those antennas that don't
duplex very well, hi!
- Now running a "look-a-like" Ringo Ranger. Better than the
Db-201, and seems to be a great overall antenna. Duplexes
very well!
The site I am at has a 600+ foot, a 300+ foot, and a smaller
100 foot tower. Each are guyed, and the repeater antenna is
mounted on top of a 25' building within all the guys, and tower
assemblies. It could be a problem mounting a "trombone" style
antenna, but if anyone would think it would out perform the
Ringo, I'll give it a try.
Suggestions???
