lightning strike - the real thing to look for is, which if either unit has an RF noise blanker? The Motorola "Extender" is a terrific noise blanker that will remove all but the most horrendous of impulse noises that otherwise would destroy weaker received signals. I expect GE has something similar, but I don't know what it's called. This will make a very great difference in the operation of your repeater.
