Another thought is have you tried keying up a radio next to the repeater without your service monitor? And then if you listen to it on another radio, does it still have the noise? Yes

This is just a guess, but it sounds like desence from your
service monitor, but I could be full of it! I will let someone

The repeater has a noise on receive like bacon frying. Not
sure
what is causing that. I can give you a call if you want to
listen to it. kind of a crackling noise. I haven't tried
adjusting anything yet, but sensativity is poor even on the
151.1875 frequency.

Wednesday because tentatively planning on going back to the
site
in portage on Thursday to visit the lady Buggs, well OK not
really, but putting up the Lincoln tenor for the repeaters
and
figuring out what is going on with my DNC. I turned it on and
it
gives me a little Gibberish character, but then I turn it off
and
back on again and then it works. Might have to just flush the
whole TNC and start over. Would like it just to power up and
work
because if there's a power failure and that TNC comes back on
then it won't power up correctly and I'm 70+ miles away from
the
site with no transportation.

BTW, the only reason to use the mic jack is if you're
updating
the
firmware (or don't want to otherwise with the rear panel
DB25).
