Superflex is not intended to be used for exterior antenna runs. ?It was developed for interior cabling in shelters and racks where tighter bends were needed. Use regular Heliax for exterior runs.

If you can't find a DB408 / DB420, a similar one to the 712EFC would be the Comet GP-6 which will have a tiny bit less gain, but none of the desense issues.?? But the 408 or 420 will still beat it as far as signal to the horizon.

Regarding ¡°superflex,¡± unless you have this available/on hand, you may want to consider plain Heliax instead, as it is cheaper and offers lower loss.

I will see if I can find something else at Dayton for the GMRS antenna. I purchased the CA-712EFC based on recommendations of people using it in repeater service. We found out about the LMR-400 braid issue in repeater service too late, that is the main reason we are moving to superflex!?
