I did it all years ago with a Pi and a donor radio.? Some scripts that were available at the time possibly called 'scanner recorder' or similar.? It would record in hour long segments as mp3.? I modified it to detect and remove silence and then save that as copy.? At the end of the day I could quickly listen to what I had missed out on through the day.? Its all lost now.

Now that I run AllStarLink, I have used the built in feature in there to record files, though on older Pi 2 builds it causes audio quality problems.? Maybe by using outstreamcmd, a stream could be sent somewhere and processed external to the Pi.
